Prime Minister Dkt. Mwigulu Nchemba has described President Dkt. Samia Suluhu Hassan as “a leader of action”, saying her four-and-a-half–year tenure has delivered unprecedented improvements in the country’s social and economic infrastructure.
Addressing thousands of residents from Ilemela and Nyamagana districts at a public rally held at Nyamagana Grounds in Mwanza, December 5, 2025, the Prime Minister highlighted massive achievements recorded under President Samia’s leadership.
He said the Government has constructed 119 district hospitals, 640 health centres, over 800 dispensaries in rural areas, more than 2,700 new primary schools, over 1,300 secondary schools, and 79,000 classrooms across the country.
“These efforts have eradicated the challenge of students waiting to join secondary school due to classroom shortages. This development has ended the era of forceful community fundraising and compulsory contributions for classroom construction,” Dkt. Mwigulu noted.
The Prime Minister emphasised that improved infrastructure in the education and health sectors requires adequate staffing. For that reason, President Samia prioritised employment in her first 100 days and directed the identification of 13 priority areas.
To fulfil this directive, the Government has approved 12,000 new jobs—including 5,000 health workers and 7,000 education officers—with interviews set to begin on December 10, 2025, in all regions. Successful candidates will begin reporting to their duty stations from January 10, 2026.
“The goal is to ensure our health centres and schools have enough personnel,” he stressed.
Dkt. Mwigulu further noted that President Samia has championed major reforms in social protection, including the ongoing rollout of the Universal Health Insurance, with children, the elderly, and pregnant women set as the first beneficiaries.
Earlier, the Prime Minister inspected areas affected by the October 29 unrest, including Kisesa, Buzurugwa and Nyasaka wards, where government offices and private property were torched. He also visited Banco mattress factory to assess damage caused during the violence.
He urged Tanzanians to reject incitement and remain united.
“Every Tanzanian has a duty to love and safeguard this country. Anyone who tells you to destroy public property is an enemy of Tanzania. Reject them,” he said.
In another development, the Prime Minister ordered Mwanza Regional Police Commander, Wilbroad Mutafungwa, to immediately arrest a teacher accused of raping the daughter of Ms. Florah Anthony of Nyasaka, who brought her case before him.
“RPC, take action. I want this matter concluded. Deploy your officers—arrest the suspect, investigate thoroughly, and if found guilty, charge him with rape,” he directed.
He also instructed the Regional Commissioner to follow up the matter:
“If he is found guilty, he must be dismissed—not transferred,” he insisted.
