The Mining Commission, in collaboration with other institutions under the Ministry of Minerals, is showcasing Tanzania's vast mineral potential at the 50th edition of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, popularly known as the Sabasaba Trade Fair, currently underway at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam.
Through its participation, the Commission is highlighting the numerous investment opportunities available across Tanzania's mineral value chain, including mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing, beneficiation and trade.
Visitors to the Ministry's pavilion are being introduced to the country's strategic efforts to position Tanzania as a regional hub for sustainable mineral development, value addition and downstream mineral industries aimed at increasing the sector's contribution to economic growth and industrialisation.
The Commission is also using the exhibition to promote greater participation of Tanzanians in the mining industry through the implementation of the Local Content Guidelines, which seek to increase local ownership, employment opportunities, technology transfer and skills development throughout the sector.
Officials noted that strengthening local participation in mining activities remains a key priority in ensuring that Tanzanians derive greater socio-economic benefits from the country's abundant mineral resources.
The exhibition, which runs until 13 July 2026, provides an important platform for investors, entrepreneurs, students and members of the public to engage directly with experts from the mineral sector and explore emerging opportunities in one of Tanzania's fastest-growing industries.
Members of the public have been encouraged to visit the Ministry of Minerals pavilion to obtain information on investment opportunities, mineral trading procedures, value addition initiatives and the various programmes being implemented to support sustainable growth in the sector.
