TTB USES SABASABA TO PROMOTE S!TE 2026 OPPORTUNITIES

By Carlos Claudio, Dar es Salaam.📍

The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) has used the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, popularly known as Sabasaba, to educate members of the public and tourism stakeholders about opportunities available through the S!TE 2026 International Tourism Expo, scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam from October 23 to 25, 2026.

Speaking at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair grounds, Tanzania Tourist Board Marketing Officer Abilah Amiri said the board had established a special desk at the exhibition to guide members of the public and stakeholders on how to register for participation in S!TE 2026.

He said the desk is also being used to encourage tourism-sector players to use the expo as a platform to promote Tanzania internationally, build business connections and access new markets for tourism products and services.

Amiri said S!TE 2026 is expected to bring together more than 200 tourism-service exhibitors and over 280 buyers of tourism products from 20 countries worldwide.

He named some of the expected markets as countries from Eastern and Western Europe, the United States, China, Russia, South Korea and India.

“These exhibitions are not only for business people; they have been organised to benefit all Tanzanians. There will be a wildlife park and various tourism activities at affordable entrance fees, so we invite citizens to come with their families to experience the attractions and learn more about the tourism sector,” Amiri said.

He added that strong participation by the public, exhibitors and private-sector stakeholders would help raise awareness of tourism opportunities, promote business growth and strengthen the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
