The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has reaffirmed its commitment to quality public service after winning the Second Best Service Provider Award in the Regulatory Authorities category at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba.
The award was presented during the official closing ceremony of the trade fair on July 13, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, officiated by the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi.
Speaking after receiving the award, PPRA Coastal Zone Manager, Ms. Vicky Mollel, said the recognition reflects the Authority's dedication to delivering efficient services and raising public awareness on transparent public procurement practices.
She noted that throughout the exhibition, PPRA educated visitors on the use of the National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST) for accessing public tenders and provided information on the Public Procurement Act, enabling more citizens and stakeholders to understand and participate in the procurement process.
"This award is the result of the hard work, innovation and dedication demonstrated by our staff throughout the exhibition. We also appreciate the continued support of Tanzanians in promoting transparency and accountability in public procurement," Ms. Mollel said.
She added that the achievement comes only days after PPRA Director General, Mr. Dennis Simba, received an international award in Geneva, Switzerland, on behalf of the Government of Tanzania, following the recognition of the NeST platform as one of the world's top 20 e-Government systems.
In the Regulatory Authorities category, the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) emerged as the overall winner, while PPRA secured second place in recognition of its outstanding customer service and public education efforts during this year's Sabasaba exhibition.
