The Governor of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT), Emmanuel Tutuba, has said that the central bank's digital platform, Talk to BoT (Sema na BoT), has transformed the way complaints from customers and financial service providers are received and handled, making the process faster and more efficient.
Tutuba made the remarks during his visit to the BoT pavilion at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, where he highlighted the platform's role in improving communication between the central bank, customers, and financial institutions.
He said the system has significantly enhanced the timely receipt and resolution of complaints, helping to reduce challenges faced by customers and financial service providers.
According to Tutuba, customers and financial service providers can now register directly on the platform and submit their complaints electronically, enabling easier tracking and faster response from the relevant authorities.
"Through this platform, customers and financial service providers can register directly and submit their complaints with ease," he said.
The Governor further noted that BoT will continue strengthening the protection of financial consumers' information through advanced and continuously improved digital security systems.
He explained that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that customers can conduct financial transactions securely, without the risk of unauthorized individuals accessing sensitive information.
Tutuba added that the adoption of modern technology is part of the central bank's broader efforts to improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and build public confidence in Tanzania's financial sector.
