Mining Commission Showcases Tanzania’s Mining Investment Potential at Nane Nane Exhibition

📍DODOMA

The Mining Commission is leveraging the 2026 Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition to attract investment into Tanzania’s mining industry while encouraging greater participation by Tanzanians across the mineral value chain, reinforcing the sector’s role in driving industrialisation and sustainable economic growth.

Speaking at the Commission’s pavilion at the Nzuguni Exhibition Grounds in Dodoma, the Commission’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Greyson Mwase, said the exhibition provides a strategic platform to connect directly with citizens, investors and industry stakeholders by showcasing the vast investment opportunities available in mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing, value addition and mineral trading.

He said the Commission is committed to ensuring that both local and foreign investors, as well as Tanzanians seeking to participate in the sector, have access to reliable information on the regulatory framework, licensing procedures and digital services that facilitate investment and improve the ease of doing business.

“The Nane Nane Exhibition enables us to engage directly with the public, answer their questions and provide practical guidance on how they can invest and participate legally and productively in Tanzania’s mining industry,” Mwase said.

Beyond promoting investment, he noted that the Commission is also raising awareness of occupational health and safety by educating miners and the public on accident prevention, the proper use of personal protective equipment, environmental stewardship and compliance with workplace health and safety standards.

Mwase said the Commission’s pavilion has been transformed into a one-stop information centre, offering professional advice on mining licences, regulatory services, digital platforms and the diverse investment opportunities available throughout the mining value chain.

He added that the Commission’s participation supports this year’s Nane Nane theme, “Know Your Market, Increase Productivity, and Deliver the National Development Vision 2050,” by highlighting how responsible and inclusive development of mineral resources can create jobs, stimulate investment, strengthen local participation and contribute to the country’s long-term economic transformation.

He encouraged citizens, artisanal, small and large-scale miners, mineral traders, students, entrepreneurs and prospective investors to visit the Commission’s pavilion to obtain professional guidance and explore opportunities within one of Tanzania’s fastest-growing economic sectors.

Established under the Mining Act, Cap. 123, the Mining Commission is responsible for regulating and supervising mining activities across the country, including the issuance of mineral rights, mine inspections, regulation of mineral trade, collection of Government revenue and promotion of compliance with mining laws and regulations.

The Commission continues to strengthen public awareness and investor confidence through exhibitions, conferences, stakeholder forums, seminars, broadcast media, publications and digital communication platforms, ensuring that accurate information on investment opportunities and regulatory requirements reaches a wider audience.

Guided by its vision of becoming a world-class mining regulator, the Commission is committed to promoting sustainable mineral development that accelerates industrialisation and delivers inclusive prosperity. Through transparent regulation, effective oversight and promotion of mineral exploration, value addition and mineral trade, it continues to support Tanzania’s broader economic development agenda.
