CDICD Group Limited is advancing mineral value addition by processing black granite into high-quality construction products for domestic and export markets, reinforcing Tanzania’s industrialisation agenda and expanding opportunities for employment and trade.

Speaking at the Nane Nane Exhibition in Dodoma, CDICD Manager Shija Shimba said the company has invested in a modern processing plant that transforms raw black granite into premium products, including kitchen countertops, paving stones, construction slabs and headstones.

The company’s mining and processing operations are based in Manyemba Village, Chamwino District, where it prioritises value addition before products reach the market.

Shimba said the investment has enabled CDICD to expand its footprint in both local and international markets. In addition to supplying finished products within Tanzania, the company exports black granite blocks to China and other countries for further processing.

Producing an average of 270 tonnes of black granite each week, CDICD distributes its products through outlets in Dodoma, Victoria–Kinondoni in Dar es Salaam, and other regions across the country.

The investment has also created employment for 90 to 100 young Tanzanians, providing jobs in machinery operation, driving, welding and other production-related activities, demonstrating the mining sector’s growing contribution to inclusive economic development.
