INHERITANCE, LAND AND CRIMINAL CASES DRIVE CITIZENS TO THE MINISTRY OF CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL AFFAIRS AT SABASABA

By Our Reporter, Dar es Salaam.

Members of the public have been encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, popularly known as Sabasaba, by visiting the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs pavilion to access legal education, advice and various services offered by the ministry.

The ministry is participating in the trade fair, which is taking place at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds, with the aim of bringing legal services closer to the public and raising awareness on legal issues that affect people in their daily lives.

Speaking at the exhibition, Assistant Director for Dispute Resolution at the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Felix Chakila, said that since arriving at the fair on June 28, the ministry has received and assisted about 1,300 citizens who presented different legal challenges.

He said the most common issues raised involve inheritance disputes, land conflicts and criminal matters, while other citizens have sought guidance on how to submit their complaints to the appropriate authorities for resolution.

According to the ministry, citizens visiting the pavilion are provided with initial legal advice, while cases and complaints that require intervention from other institutions are referred to the relevant authorities.

“Our goal is to ensure that citizens receive legal education and understand where to take their challenges. Most of the issues presented involve inheritance, land and criminal matters, so we advise them and direct them to the relevant authorities for assistance and resolution,” he said.

The ministry has urged citizens to continue visiting its pavilion during the remaining days of the trade fair to access available services and receive legal support that can help them address challenges facing their communities.

The participation of the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs at Sabasaba continues to serve as an important bridge in bringing justice and legal services closer to citizens, while also strengthening public understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities.
