The first Ambassador-Designate of Slovakia to Tanzania, H.E. Ivan Lančarič, has presented Copies of his Credentials to the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Dr. Ngwaru Maghembe, in Dodoma on December 10, 2025.
Ambassador Lančarič submitted his Credentials following Slovakia’s decision to open its Embassy in Tanzania in December 2025.
Receiving the documents, Dr. Maghembe said the opening of the Embassy is a result of Tanzania’s strong and effective diplomacy under the leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
“This Embassy will serve as a catalyst for strengthening diplomatic cooperation between Tanzania and Slovakia, particularly in the areas of investment, trade, and tourism,” Dr. Maghembe stated.
For his part, Ambassador Lančarič said the establishment of the new Embassy in Tanzania is in line with Slovakia’s Foreign Policy, which aims to expand its diplomatic presence across Africa. He noted that the Embassy will not only represent Slovakia in Tanzania but also in other African countries, including Zambia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Burundi, Gabon, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
This milestone marks a new chapter in the diplomatic relations between the two nations, paving the way for deeper cooperation and mutual development.
