Endulen, Ngorongoro

Relations between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) and communities living within the conservation area continue to improve following a series of visits by the NCAA Commissioner for Conservation, Mr Abdul-Razaq Badru, to villages in Ngorongoro Division.

As part of the initiative, Commissioner Badru on Saturday visited Endulen Ward in Ngorongoro District, accompanied by members of the Ngorongoro Management Team and the Endulen Ward Councillor, Dr Elias Sakara Nagol.

Speaking during the visit, Commissioner Badru said the objective of the tour was to further strengthen cooperation between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area leadership and local communities, as well as to inspect improvements to water infrastructure used by residents, livestock and wildlife.

He informed residents of Endulen Ward that the Authority is implementing water projects in several areas, including Endulen, Kakesio and Olbalbal wards, among others. He urged community members to actively participate in the management and maintenance of the projects, noting that they are funded by government resources and are crucial for sustainable livelihoods.

On his part, Endulen Ward Councillor Dr Elias Sakara Nagol commended Commissioner Badru and his team for maintaining close relations with communities living within the conservation area. He said the regular visits, open dialogue and collaboration on social issues had strengthened trust between the Authority and residents.

Dr Nagol assured that the community would continue to support conservation efforts and serve as ambassadors for protecting and preserving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area through participatory conservation programmes.
