DC Kyobya Engages Ifakara Main Market Traders on Cleanliness, Security and New Market Project

The Kilombero District Commissioner, Hon. Advocate Dunstan Kyobya, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, held talks with traders at the Ifakara Main Market to discuss key issues affecting their business environment and welfare.

During the meeting, DC Kyobya addressed matters related to market cleanliness, safety and security, and the planned construction of a modern market. He also listened to challenges raised by the traders and emphasized the importance of ensuring that eligible traders access the 10 percent loans provided by the Council to economically empower small-scale entrepreneurs.

On her part, the Ifakara Town Council Director, Ms Pilly Kitwana, urged traders to continue cooperating with the council and other authorities to ensure that existing challenges are resolved promptly, enabling them to conduct their businesses in a clean, safe and conducive environment.

The meeting was attended by various district and council leaders, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening dialogue and collaboration with traders in order to promote sustainable economic development.
