BRELA TAKES BUSINESS REGISTRATION SERVICES CLOSER TO CITIZENS AT NANE NANE EXHIBITION

By Carlos Claudio, Dodoma

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) has continued bringing its services closer to the public through its participation in the 32nd Nane Nane National Agricultural Exhibition at Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma, encouraging traders, farmers and entrepreneurs to formalize their businesses and benefit from the opportunities that come with operating legally.

The services are being offered from August 1 to 8, 2026, allowing visitors to access all key BRELA services without having to visit the agency's offices.

Speaking at the exhibition, BRELA Registration Officer Yusuf Mwasakafyuka said the agency is committed to providing fast and efficient services while educating the public on the importance of formalizing their businesses to enhance growth and competitiveness in both local and international markets.

He said the services available at the exhibition include business name registration, company incorporation, issuance of Group A Business Licenses, trademark and industrial property registration, as well as professional advisory services on all BRELA functions.

"We invite traders, farmers and all citizens engaged in economic activities to visit our pavilion. They will receive all the services normally available at our offices, along with guidance that will help them formalize and expand their businesses," Mwasakafyuka said.

He noted that the exhibition is also being used to introduce BRELA's upgraded registration system, which has significantly improved the efficiency of digital service delivery and simplified the registration process.

According to him, the new system enables clients to submit applications, upload supporting documents and track the progress of their applications online from anywhere, eliminating the need to visit BRELA offices and saving both time and costs.

"The goal of these improvements is to make our services more accessible. Today, a customer can apply for services from home, the office or any other location without traveling to a BRELA office," he said.

Mwasakafyuka added that the upgraded system has also strengthened transparency and enhanced the security of company records by ensuring shareholders receive notifications whenever changes are made to company ownership or other important corporate information.

He explained that to use the digital platform effectively, applicants must have a National Identification Number (NIDA), an active mobile phone number and a valid email address, all of which are required during the registration process.

He further urged farmers and entrepreneurs participating in the Nane Nane Exhibition to take advantage of the opportunity to formalize their businesses, noting that business registration opens doors to financing, wider markets, government tenders and partnerships with financial and development institutions.

BRELA is the government agency responsible for business registration and formalization in Tanzania, including company registration, business name registration, trademark registration and the issuance of Group A Business Licenses.

Through its participation in the 2026 Nane Nane Exhibition, the agency aims to reach more citizens and promote the growth of formal businesses as a key driver of Tanzania's economic development.

This year's 2026 Nane Nane National Agricultural Exhibition is being held under the theme: "Know Your Market, Increase Productivity, and Deliver the National Development Vision 2050."
