Residents of Dodoma City have called on the Government, through the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA), to intervene and ensure the accuracy of mobile internet data bundles and call time measurements, claiming that their purchased data is being depleted too quickly without clear explanation.
The residents have urged the authorities to promote greater transparency and ensure that consumers receive the full value of the data and airtime they pay for, arguing that it is their right to get exactly what they purchase.
Several residents who spoke in Dodoma expressed concern that the megabytes (MBs) or gigabytes (GBs) they buy are exhausted within a very short time, even when they are not actively using their mobile phones.
They said this raises questions about the accuracy and fairness of the measurements used for internet data bundles and call time.
Dodoma Regional Manager of the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA), Said Ibrahim, said the agency has received the public's concerns and has already begun the process of verifying and regulating the accuracy of mobile internet data bundles and call time measurements.
He added that the agency is committed to ensuring consumers receive fair and accurate services in line with established standards.
