WOMEN FROM MINING COMMISSION JOIN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS

Dodoma

Women from the Mining Commission Headquarters, together with those from the Dodoma Resident Mines Office joined other women across the country in commemorating International Women’s Day during celebrations held at Mbande Primary School in Kongwa District, Dodoma Region.

The event brought together women from various public and private institutions to celebrate the contribution of women to social and national development.

This year’s International Women’s Day is being observed under the theme: “Rights for Women and Girls: The Foundation for Inclusive Development towards the National Development Vision 2050.”

The theme seeks to emphasise the importance of ensuring that women and girls have equal access to opportunities in education, economic empowerment and leadership, which are essential pillars for achieving sustainable and inclusive national development.

Speaking during the celebrations, participants highlighted the need for continued efforts to promote gender equality and encouraged communities to actively participate in removing barriers that hinder the progress of women and girls in the country.

The event also provided an opportunity for participants to exchange views on strategies aimed at strengthening women’s empowerment and ensuring that their rights are fully recognised and protected as the nation works towards achieving its long-term development goals.
