Dr. Jingu Urges Government Communicators to Utilize Social Media in Promoting Equal Generation Programme

BY OKULY JULIUS - DODOMA

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr. John Jingu, has urged Heads of Government Information and Communication Units to make effective use of social media platforms in promoting and educating the public about various government initiatives, particularly those aimed at building an equal generation through economic rights.
Dr. Jingu made the remarks in Dodoma City during a working session held to enhance understanding of the Equal Generation Programme, which brought together Heads of Government Information and Communication Units from various Ministries and Public Institutions.

He emphasized that without equality in society, it would be impossible to build a generation that achieves genuine and sustainable development. Therefore, government efforts to ensure economic rights for all groups must be properly communicated to citizens through communication channels, especially social media platforms.

On his part, a Community Development Officer and Coordinator of the Equal Generation Programme, John Mapunda, stated that the objective of providing the training to Heads of Government Information and Communication Units was to equip them with the skills to effectively convey messages to the public regarding achievements, opportunities, and positive changes resulting from the implementation of the programme.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Government Communication Unit at TAMISEMI, Roida Andusamile, stressed the importance of coordination and unity among government communication units to ensure that accurate information reaches citizens in a timely manner and in a language they can easily understand.

Similarly, the Acting Head of the Government Communication Unit at the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Raymond Mushumbusi, said that after gaining a better understanding of the Equal Generation Programme being implemented in the country, they, as communication coordinators of the programme, have embraced it and pledged to collaborate closely with sector ministries in its implementation.
