Prime Minister’s Office Hands Over Humanitarian Aid to Flood Victims in Kilosa

The Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), through the Disaster Management Department, has today, January 2, 2026, handed over various humanitarian relief items to flood victims in Tindiga Ward, Kilosa District, Morogoro Region.

The handover ceremony took place at the Office of the Kilosa District Commissioner, where the relief items were officially received by the District Commissioner, Hon. Shaka Hamdu Shaka, on behalf of the affected residents.

The exercise was led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr James Kilabuko, together with the Director of the Disaster Management Department, Brigadier General Hosea Ndagala. The District Commissioner received the assistance in the presence of members of the District Security and Safety Committee.

The relief items provided by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Disaster Management Department include 90 mattresses, 90 mosquito nets, 90 blankets, five tents and 90 buckets. In addition, the government has supplied food aid comprising 7.2 tonnes of maize flour, 2.1 tonnes of beans, 360 litres of cooking oil, 300 kilograms of salt and 600 kilograms of sugar.

Speaking during the handover, government officials reiterated their commitment to continue supporting communities affected by natural disasters, while urging residents to cooperate with authorities and adhere to safety guidelines as the rainy season continues.

The assistance is part of ongoing government efforts to alleviate suffering and restore dignity to citizens affected by floods in various parts of the country.
