
The United Republic of Tanzania has joined the Republic of Kenya in commemorating the country’s Independence Day (Jamhuri Day), held at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
Tanzania was represented by the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), Hon. William Lukuvi (MP), who attended on behalf of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Tanzania and Kenya share a long-standing historical and brotherly relationship that continues to strengthen over time. The two countries have cooperated in areas of diplomacy, economy, politics, security, culture and social development, as well as through regional and international frameworks, particularly the East African Community (EAC), the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN).
